The election for California's 6th congressional district takes place on 3 November 2026. Two candidates advanced from the June 2026 top-two primary: independent Rep. Kevin Kiley and Democrat Richard Pan. The newly redrawn district covers parts of Sacramento, Yolo, and Placer counties, including Citrus Heights, North and East Sacramento, West Sacramento, Rocklin, and Roseville.

Vote-by-mail ballots begin mailing to all active registered voters, and early in-person voting locations begin opening around the state.
The deadline to register to vote online or by mail is October 19, 2026.
Election day is November 3, 2026. California also offers conditional voter registration in person through Election Day. Official information comes from the California Secretary of State.
California's mid-decade redistricting under Proposition 50 dissolved Kiley's prior 3rd District and created the new 6th, prompting him to leave the Republican Party and register as an independent to run for the seat. In the June 2026 top-two primary, Kiley and Pan advanced from a crowded field that also included Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho, West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero, and Planned Parenthood executive Lauren Babb Tomlinson. The district is considered competitive but favors Democrats.
