The Independent PAC supports candidates who share our values of independent political thinking. This can be found in statements such as:
- I’m an Independent which means I’m committed to working across the aisle with all parties, but I will not be joining with the Republican or Democratic caucuses when I get to Washington. I will remain independent, loyal to the constituents in my state, not to party bosses in D.C.
- The two-party system has fundamentally broken Washington. Partisan bickering stops real progress. Allegiance to party bosses is prioritized over allegiance to constituents. Real Independents, who do not align themselves with either party, are the best path forward.
- Independents make up 45% of U.S. adults (Gallup) yet have no representation in Congress. Elected independents would represent nearly half of American adults, who are currently not represented at all.
- According to recent polling, the Democratic Party has hit historic favorability lows, with a staggering 41% of self-identified Democrats failing to view their own party positively (Pew). Meanwhile, primary data shows that a 57% majority of Republicans are dissatisfied with their party's baseline platform and want a different ideological direction (Gallup). The two-party system is facing an unprecedented crisis of faith — proving that there has never been a more likely time for an independent political breakthrough.
- Just two truly Independent Senators could break partisan gridlock in Washington by acting as the deciding votes in every major piece of legislation – giving them the opportunity to represent real Americans, not party bosses.
On issues, we support candidates who bring a sense of nuance in their political thinking with statement like:
- Republicans and Democrats alike have proven that they cannot regulate data centers properly. While data centers can benefit communities by creating jobs and driving revenue, we cannot prioritize building data centers when everyday peoples’ safety is in jeopardy.
- I believe data centers can be an engine for job growth in my state, but it is critical for communities to be involved in deciding whether they will allow data centers to be built (and how). It is also critical that big tech companies to pick up their fair share of energy costs and ensure that data centers are not polluters.
- Union labor is the backbone of our country, whether we’re talking about data centers, manufacturing, or civil servants; we need to ensure that union members' voices are being heard.
- Our men and women should not be sent to die in endless foreign wars. It is clear that the majority of our country does not support continued intervention in the Middle East, and we need to listen to our constituents when they say forever wars are putting their children in danger abroad and hurting their wallets at home.
- Washington’s foreign policy objectives are hurting Americans at home. From foreign wars bringing up prices at the pump, to tariffs making putting food on the table more difficult – I only support foreign policy objectives that help Americans safety and wallets.
As newer issues develop, we will update this to expand our definition of what Independent leaders in America look like but the unchanging factor in our decision to support or endorse candidates is their pledge to not caucus with Republican and Democratic parties.
